People:me and about 79 others

Duration:2-7pm

Tide:rising

Weather:cold wet and windy and cold

Bait:rag and mack

Rigs:3 hook flappers

Results:23cm turbot, 2 flounder,2 coalie,rockling all 19cm

Report:booked a peg for the comp last week and had been looking forward to entering my first comp, checked the weather before i left and it was'nt looking good with gale and rain forecast. i thought the fishing gods were going to take it easy on me as it was clear skies on the drive up. :D. then as soon i hit the glens i noticed about 2 inch's of snow lying in the fields :( :( :( .got checked in and landed peg 75 which was at the far end of the beach. got off to a very slow start with even the chap at peg 74 who was a waterfoot veteran moaning about the lack of bites. after about an hour and a half i landed a 23cm turbot,   with my card signed and the fish back where he belonged it was time to try and find a few larger fish. this proved harder than i thought as every bait was coming back untouched. . at about 6ish i got a double of coalie and flounder was but both just shy of scoring size, then just as we were told to reel in at 7 i landed the dream triple shot of flounder coalie and rockling, which all looked decent size and would have put in with a chance of getting a decent score, but all 3 fell short at just 19cm :x :x. headed back to the bar to hand the card in was told of a fella that landed 40 fish and had none over the vital 20cm mark. overall a bad evening the office but personaly it was a good night as i did'nt blank and most cards returned were scored in the low 20's, and at least i can say i did'nt get my eye wiped by the season'd pro's....

no photo's due to the rain and the fact that most of the time i could'nt feel my fingers
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

i was at peg 41 and the fishing was bad there too. I had one counter, a 21cm Pollock. Aslo had 4 undersize :( . But it was a good day out apart from the rain later.

well done on your first comp fella, its sometimes hard to connect with some of the bigger counting fish.

It was windy as a mofo on sunday. We fished the pier on the friday night. small fish all night.
You going to the comp this weekend fella?
