Hello there trigger. Its not exactly prolific but the east pier in Dun Laoire is always a good spot for them. Nothing massive but there are a few of them there. My biggest from it is about 18lb. I find the best time to fish for them to be 3 hours either side of high tide. Head and guts of fresh mackerel (you can feather up plenty from outside the pier in an hour or so) dropped down the inside of the pier on a 6/0 Kamasan works for me.
have u got them during the day Sean? might give it a shot myself. i hear colliemore harbour shows up a few too. howth has them in good numbers on the inside from the short pier. good size too with 20lb'ers and bigger caught each year.

are you talkin bout just droppin them down the wall facing where the boat docks no need to cast
Yeah just a couple of metres from the wall, but a bit further up the pier. Try and fish beside one of the sets of steps into the water, it makes landing them a whole lot easier
