Bass Gender ???

Is there a way of telling a female bass from a male . I heard that all bass over 10lb are female , is there any truth to this???
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !

i,v seen a 9 lber oozing white milky fluid in april, i think it was a male fish ?
