Last night I went to Ennereilly, the wind was very strong and the waves were very big.
I fished from 20.00 until 22.00, blank

The HT was @ 23.30 but I left @ 22.00 as it started raining too much! One rain drop was like a bucket of water.
Probably I should had stay in the car for 30 min or so and wait for the rain to stop. The rain stopped when I arrived home.

I still have 50 lug left and I'll may go fishing again tonight.
If it's like yesterday, it's impossible to see or feel a bite.
The weight with the gripper didn't help, the weight was bouncing in every directions.

I was using a 110 gr weight, maybe I should use something heavier.

175gm gripper would have a better chance of holding bottom the trouble with anny reily is her bottom is gravel so if its rough your weight wont hold or sometimes gets buried along with your line (another good reason for a shockleader )better luck next time

Yea Diego 110g is very light for those condidtions hard luck.

Bad luck Diego,

On Tuesday i was able to get a 140g gripper to hold on sand and the conditions were very bad. Beebub had trouble getting a heavier 6oz gripper to hold at the same place and time. I'm not sure but after i cast and i'm walking back to the stand i allow the weight to drag in with the reel locked for the last few feet. It seems to bury it a little.

140 is fine for the rod you have in those conditions.

unlucky diego, i hope you have better luck tonight a wee trick i picked up for when your gripper keeps getting sprung free when it's rough is to wrap an elastic band around the wires so they cant spring, acts like an anchor. i've lost count of how many times i have'nt brought gripper weights heavy enough for the conditions i've arrived at. but the old rubber band saved the day

Thanks lads for the info, I just went to the tackle shop and I bought 3 x 140 gr and 2 x 175 gr weight.
Looking forward to try them. I'm going to try the rubber band as suggested by alandjordan; it sounds like a good idea.

i make my own weights, and always use rubber bands to hold the grips,they have a much better hold on the grips.
well worth buying your moulds if you can get scrap lead,cost me 32 euro and all i buy is the grips,so weights work out about 20 cent,the mould makes 150gm and 175gm
