Coleman Powerhouse lamp

#1 Post by Steve »

Hi all,

I have a Coleman Powerhouse two mantle petrol lamp in the shed for a couple of years now. I was having problems with it previously, so bought a headlamp to replace it.

I'd like to see if I can get it going again however.

The problem is that when I light it, the lamp tends to produce a flame, and when it's gone the mantles only produce a very dull, and flickering glow, before going out after about 10 mins.

Has anyone with one of these lamps suffered similar problems? I've tried all the usual tricks (making sure it's fully pumped, turning the nozzle from on to off to clean it etc), but it ain't working!

Also, does anyone know somewhere where I can send it to be repaired?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
It may be the jet is blocked or that you are using stale (old) petrol. Try new fresh petrol, only my suggestion, may not work.

have you tried using Colman's white fuel, its a purified version of unleaded petrol. I've been told that if you use that every now and again it clears out any build up on the burners..
