lecanvey pier 12-1-2009

People:Me and Jason

Duration: 4 pm-10 pm

Tide: ht 7.30

Weather:nice and mild,wind southwesterly

Bait:mack,squid, sandeel,

Rigs:all sorts

Results:Me:9 lsd, 2 huss, 2 sea scorpion,1 pollock.
Jason:11 lsd,1 huss,2 three bearded rockling,1 coalie,1 pouting.




Report:We were supposed to go to achill this week but i was involved in a car accident on sat, :cry: so i was feeling a bit stiff and sore! We went to lecanvey pier instead because of the ease of access and I would not have to be balancing on rocks :shock: The only reason we went out was because of the solunar theory decribed in brian Kinsellas excellent book, and cortezs reassurances that it worked!!Man were they right!! :D thats the best fishing we had in a LONG time :D :D From the minute we set up,to the minute we left,we were getting bites!!Jason got his first pouting, and i got my first sea scorpion!!We missed as many fish as we caught,and Jason lost a BIG huss at the habour wall because we forgot the net! A conserative guesstimate would be 10lb :shock: Got to ask one question though is the fish in the pic a three bearded rockling or a shore rockling??

looks like a big shore rockling to me :?:havnt had a doggy in ages will try for one tonight they seem a bit scarce around dublin at the moment i think the pin whiting may have eaten them all :roll:nice session love it when a plan comes together :wink:

Nice fishing lads good mix great to see the doggies on the prowl :) .... shame about the 10lb+ huss ye'll just have to go back for him real soon :wink:

hi roger, lecanvey pier is a great spot for the doggies,sometimes it seems thats all you catch there,but i like catching them so it does not bother me!!

great session lads, nice to hear the rods were hoppin from first cast.
out this friday night, be glad to do half as well :roll:
