Weather and fishing.

#1 Post by gowerray »

Loadsa debate on ideal fishing weather. Best pressure, humidity etc, etc. Found a link to this weather site which gives ratings for catching. Does it work? Gawd knows but it's an interesting concept.
Instructions: Click on the top menu for your area eg 'weather 4 Ireland' and the area you want. This takes you to a five day forecast. Then click on 'Hobby forecast - Fishing weather' in the left hand side menu. This'll give you a five day forecast of possible catch rate. Good, bad and average. Have to monitor it and deduct my own crap skills from the ratings. Could make 'good' become average and 'bad' sell my gear.

looks like an interesting site alright, it's cool the way they break it down into county by county basis, and as you said it looks interesting from an angling perspective. what are ideal fishing conditions? what might suit salmon anglers mightn't suit coarse anglers......but should be an interesting one to keep an eye on and see how correct it is.
cheers for that one

hey lads, i was just wondering have any of ye being using this website for weather forecasts? since gowerray first posted it, i've been using it for the seven day forecasts(the fishing predictons aren't the most accurate!....or maybe it's just me!!) it was a great little site, and the vast majoriy of time they were spot on with weather.
the only problem is now they upgraded the site, and ireland is classed as the uk(it makes my blood boil!!!!) and it no longer gives a county by county breakdown, instead you have to give your postcode, we don't have one! so i'm screwed! just wondering is ther some magic solution i'm missing here? ther isn't even a contacts link for me to whinge to! any ideas are welcome, or failing that, a new decent website that gives accurate irish weather.......united kingdom my arse......

I use them all the time but it's been a few weeks so I didn't notice the site change. I have to say I like the old layout better. I don't think there is anywhere that is good for a 7 day forcast but I have found the 48 hour one to be very good and I use it all the time. Especially good for wind speeds which is important if you are out on a boat.

You can enter a location again, ie Clare (part of the UK  .) Good forecast though.
