Had set off up the coast with high hopes of picking up some turbot or possibly a bass, was going to go to benone but I think there was a competition on, so decided to give white park bay a bash. Now none of us have fished this place before but knew enough to know about the slog up and down to the beach and from some of the posts on this site knew what sort of fish to be expecting. What a dissapointment no matter what we tried to do nothing was touching the baits apart from the pesky dogs that werent on the lead . As I sat there on the beach praying for a bite a local came over to ask me how I was doing and then began to tell me that he had seen bass being caught of the beach the previous few weeks, this perked me up no end he told me that he has lifted sea trout and bass on the fly off the beach himself, but another few hours passed and nothing. Alas we had tried our best and every tactic we knew but it just wasnt our day, but it does the soul good to be out there braving the elements.

Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.
unlucky julio, from recent reports it seems w.p.b. can be really hit and miss. seems to be that if there's any kinda surf it kills the fishing. we blanked there too on our last trip . but then no where seems to be fishing on the east coast during daylight hours at the moment . but fair play for sticking it out
Cheers lads, i hope to be out this weekend all being well with the weather , maybe give cushendun a blast I was catching some small codling of there around October, hopefully a few decent sized codling will be showing there now, i will keep yas posted.
