Boat hire in Dingle

#1 Post by Anonymous »

Hello,

I'm coming to Ireland (2nd week of may) and I'm looking for a small fishing boat during one week( 16-20 feet max)

I will stay in Dingle and I wonder where I can find a motor boat to rent without a skipper for the whole week. I've rent a boat in the past in Baltimore but I can't find the same service in Dingle.

I would be very pleased if someone could help me or give any informations.

Thanks in advance and Best Regards from France.

The problem with boat hire in Dingle is the harbours available for boats, and specifically the depth of water needed for the large 10 metre + charter boats. Ballydavid is possible but the remaining slipways and harbours are almost certainly too small. There is a small quay in Kells Bay on the north side that might allow someone board a boat at high water and clearly the main centre would be Dingle itself... best to check the six boats listed on the Kerry section of the charter list and see if any will pick you up somewhere if you can not travel to their berths...

FWIW...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
