I live quite close to both Nohoval and Roberts coves, but I've never heard of or seen anyone fishing them.
If anyone can give me any information as to whats the fishing like I'd really appreciate it.
I'm going out tomorrow and I'm in the form for a new venue and a bit of adventure
Thanks very much in advance

Re: Roberts cove and Nohoval cove, Co. Cork
Hi...I used to fish the rocks behind the mobile home park in Roberts cove during the Summer for garfish, macks, pollack and dogs. Very deep water so anything could turn up....it's fairly rough ground to so be prepared to lose a few rigs. Never fished the beach or heard any reports about it but it looks fishy enough....worth a shot I suppose.
If you heading down to the rock marks, be careful as they could be slippery enough at this time of the year...pm me if you need directions...sorry,can't be of any more help, cheers, rory

Thanks for the reply bud.
This is a complete change in topic but I can't be arsed starting a new thread,
Has anyone fishes the rocks facing Sandycove over on the castlepark side of Kinsale?
I often see hoards of people down on the rocks in summer time presumably chucking feathers for macks. Never seen or heard of anyonee trying the mark in Winter, that could be a sign that it's not worth the bother but I'd like some first hand knowledge if someone has any.....

i have got a lot of decent pollack and flatties from Roberts cove over the years and the odd sea trout on the right hand side of the cove but its blocked off now the path way which i used to walk down and have fished novhal a few times and got doggies and coalies its a place that can be dangerous with a freak wave hits the rocks there it could take you in, in seconds with the tide in that is

i was down kinsale a few weeks back. not sure if i was at the mark your talking about tho?? is it the one where you have to walk thru the corn field and your looking at the little island out from sandy cove?? if it is the same mark then it might be worth a go. all we got were a few decent sized whiting and loads of pin whiting. baits we used were fresh mack(from the english market 1.50 each) sandeel, squid and frozen black lug. it was a nice day down there and we had dolpnins swimming round so that could have been why the fishing was so poor. gonna give it another try soon.

Think we could be on about the same place alright, it's a bitch that all the spots nearby to me are anonymous and hard to get to!
I think I'll stick to bait digging in this Easterly wind for the moment, once that shifts I'll get out to that spot you're talking about red.
