west waterford 19/12/08

#1 Post by theshoreking »

People: me n davewalt

Duration: 9 to 12.30

Tide: hw 11ish

Weather: very mild, west wind

Bait: lug, razor, crab, sandeel, blueys

Rigs:various feeder rigs

Results:8 bass and 4 coalies (all c&r)

Report:

was drivin all afternoon and thought I wouldn't get to go at all. Davewalt contacted me at short notice and we said we go then. Tried to ring someone else but failed - you know who you RR. Anyway, got to the mark at 9 and not a sinner about - we couldn't believe it. We fishd away in a smashin surf and managed to land 4 coalies and 8 bass (smallest 45cm). I'll post up some pics sometime tomorrow. Wrecked.

Great fishing again after your "poor" night with "only" 4 bass.
Sorry I didn't head out myself now, thought it would be too windy as it was fairly wild here in the afternoon, but it did seem to calm down later.
Any problem with weed?

You bet. The old cod are pretty scarce this year. Haven't had a huge amount of coalies either but at least a few showed up on that session.
