your one of the few people on hear who have said they use earthworm - dont know many others

i would say lug get you better fish - rag will get you more fish

yes :!: :!: :!: :!: i used to use them a lot and got some big wrasse to 5.75Ibs, cod and coalie. this year i've started usin lug this year and have done quite well.

I agree with you about the rag and lug Brian but,,,I brought a few earthworms with me to cahore harbour as an experiment( ok they were free as well :oops: :oops: ),,,,and i caught 3 dabs in a row with them :? :shock: :shock:

caught some flounders and dabs on them durin the summer at millisle on both earthworm and maggot on waggler set ups along with sand gobbies and sea scorpians........

mullet also were on the maggots.

I have tried earthworms. Like most bait, sometimes it works and others not. I can not say anything about whether they taste different to fish but they look and act similar to lug on the hook - and this is probably why they work. The only drawback is that they do not last long in salt water.

anyone try slugs?they fizz up nicley when you put salt on em , :twisted:

Yes,i've been using them for ages,,,,didnt even have to go to the beach for them,found some under the marigolds :wink: . If you leave a saucer of beer for them they come without a fight :shock: . Yeah,,,,ragworms and slugworms,,,,,,,i use them both. Hang on a minute ,,,it was slugworms,,,wasnt it??? :roll: :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
