Celebrity Anglers

#1 Post by uvox »

With the exception of Derek Davis, are there any celeb sea anglers left? Anyone seen anyone famous fishing from the shore? Who and where?

Any sightings of Bono on Killiney Beach picking away at a birdsnest on his multiplier (even better than the reel thing, etc., etc)?

"Celebrity"? I was thinking less Derek Davis and more Angelina Jolie ...

Do they have to be Irish? What about Sarah Palin? Or Hugh Fernley Whittingstall?

Maybe they don't count because I haven't seen them in person.

Yeah. Irish. In Ireland. I use the term "celebrity" loosely with regard to Derek Davis. I'm prompted by this morning's interview on the Tubridy show with "jack charlton" (whoever he is) and he (charlton) said he only caught two fish this year (apparently he fly fishes on fresh water, so doesn't count). Tubridy said he only caught one.

Is sea shore fishing not a celeb thing?

and no, Ian Botham and Gordon Ramsey don't count either.

that's right. Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is famous for it. http://www.brucefans.com/2008/08/02/iro ... ady-helen/

Not irish or in ireland though.

Come on, surely somebody's seen Enya plugging for Bass at Whiterock or Jimmy Magee mackey-bashing at Clogher Head?

Hi Gearoid,

I have a friend that would give anything to meet up with Chris Tarrant on a beach or better still a dark alley,

Tarrant used to be in a kids TV show around 1980 called Tiswas "Today Is Saturday, Watch And Smile". On ITV,

All the kids / fans of the show where invited… my mate being thirteen at the time and a big fan of Tarrant’s went to get a couple of autographs of his idols when he approached Tarrant and asked him politely to sign his book Tarrant pushed him out of the way saying get the f**k out of the my way you little b+++++d, :?

To this day he hates the man with a vengeance and said he would black his 2 eyes if he ever meets up with him for what he done all them years ago,

I reckon tarrant would have to phone a very big friend to sort this fellow out

Nice to get that on camera :D
