Recommend a 13 ft Beachcaster?

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Recommend a 13 ft Beachcaster?

#1 Post by stevo74 »

guys,
Looking to get a 13ft beachcaster for the New Year but has to be a 3 piece, preferably with a warranty. I like the Greys BZE but it's only a 2 piece. Budget around €100-€150. Anyone got any recommendations? Looking at the Penn Powerstix Pro 3pc Surf at the mo. anyone have or use one of these before?

appreciate any feedback

Hi there,
for the money your talking about,i think that grauvell do a 3 piece 13ft surf rod, check out veals web site.If your willing to go to 14ft theres alot better choice out there, and have you tried the tackle for sale section on this site, you might get lucky with a good quality 2nd hand rod.
Best of luck

the tackle for sale section isn't open for new members. theres a minimum post count or minimum time on the site before it can be accessed. i didnt realise it a while back and spent half an hour lookin for it.

Hi Steve ,

I prefer the 3pcs too for easy access around and soon my mate and myself will be ordering the IMAX 3pcs Tricep 5oz-6oz , i've yet to get any feedback about this rod though I've read the short review , anyway , Im taking a gamble here and hopefully the rod will justified me with an average performance ... :D

Cheers Mate .... :)

All,
thanks for all the feedback. Really liked look (and price) of the Grey's BZE so went ahead and ordered it online today for 122 euro incl. delivery. I know I wanted a 3 pc but got the brainwave of putting my back seat down so boot can now happily fit 2 pc rod !!! Anyone got any review of the BZE's? I have a shimano exage 6000 reel, which i'm going to match it with. It's about 580 grams so hope it balances ok

cheers
