People:myself and one other

Duration: 11.30 - 15.30

Tide: HW 12.45

Weather: clear skies, cool, breeze strengthened from south over time

Bait: lug, mac, sandeel, squid

Rigs: 3 hook flapper, 2 hook pat clipped

Results: 1 turbot

Report: as happens so often. reports of bass asking to be hooked - headed down with hopes of breaking a 7 session blank streak at this beach - never caught a fish here ever

wouldnt have gone near it only for the clare majority choose it

roads were brutal and the 2 votes against the mark were the only 2 to turn up!

first cast turbot in the suds at my feet - just a counter at 20cm

and that was it

balls of lug all distances and locations - no joy for the next 3 hours

word was certainly out - others fishing other end of the beach and a couple of lads walking to the rocks with spinning rods

the other beach fishers left after 2 hours - didnt see the spinning boys come back

the duck is broke at this beach - but i reckon another year is plenty of time before i go near it again

I admire your perserverence - I think after a third blank I would have never gone back

It's a bizzare beach i've had sessions where there's been bass, sea trout and flounder showing one minute then nothing. Come to think of it apart from a weaver thats all i've ever seen caught there :? Fished it many times on balmy summer nights with fish baits at varying distances and never once even seen a doggie. I know a lot of people that won't go near the place any more which is a shame..... you look at the place and you think fish but they just don't seem to be there anymore!!
