god those photos bring back some good memories! always got two weeks holidays in august there as a kid,we would spend most evenings fishing of that pier! have not been back for two years now,will get down before christmas, hear the whiting are in there!!!!

The locals won't like to be here that they live in Mayo. West of the Moy on the beach is all Sligo

Nice Pics,
Do you you see the rock outcrop at the end of the promenade. Its there to protect it from the worst of the waves, but when the tide is rising it fills some gulleys at the end of this and it a great place to nic a flounder, dab or sea-trout. Light leads, no grips, you must fish as close as possible to the end of the outcrop, be careful as its easy to get snagged. lug, tipped with mackeral or pieces of sandeel. Best if there is a ground see to stirr the bottom. This beach is so shallow that you think you wouldn't get much and its only a shadow of its former self, but you can get some fish. Avoid it if there has been lots of rain as the moy empties into the bay and depending upon the size of the tide the fresh water gets pushed along the beach keeping any fish well out of reach. Surprised that the is no whiting from the pier as they place is full of whiting down south.
