Report: we were ment to fish portrush today from 1pm but my central locking in the car decided that it was'nt gonna let us into the motor :| :| :| :| :| :| . luckily a mate of mine who is a mechanic came round and sorted it for me. so 2 hours later and £40 lighter we hit the road and opted to go back to our antrim beach, so as not to waste any more fishing time    we decided we would just have another bash at the flatties instead. so we set up camp and got our rods baited up and cast out for 3pm. i did'nt hold much hope as there were good sized waves crashing into the shore with the wind blowing directly at us   after an hour and a half none of the rods were touched so we broke out the frying pan and got the hot dogs on the go. jordan only got one bite out of his hot dog and his wee spinning rod almost lept out of the rest     . the hot dog was duely dropped and he ran across the beach and struck into something substantial. i was thinking it was mabey a big pollock or coaley, but was in total disbeliefe when he landed a bloody big bass at 3lb 2oz      we all started screaming and jumping about like a bunch of loons when his other rod did the same     in blind panic he dropped his first rod in the sand and hit the second, and landed another bass at 2lb 15oz.    what the hell was going on????????????? we were here to fish for flatties on flattie rigs, tiny size 4 hooks useing small single ragworm on each hook :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: this sort of thing is'nt ment to happen :? :? :? :? :? after a while we all calmed down and tried to take in what had just happened. me and mark quickly rebaited and recasted desprately trying to get in on the action, with no luck :( :( :( it all went quiet again and we returned to our hot dogs. in the next couple of hours i had a couple of small coalies and pollock and jordan did the same and got the only flattie of the night, a wee flounder. then just after 10pm mark got a serious rattle and landed his first ever bass t 2lb 6oz. this was crazy. bass on an antrim beach   then my rod went and i landed my first ever bass at 1lb 5 oz 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) and not to be outdone jordan landed another at 2lb 4oz. by now it was almost midnight and to be honest we were all frozen and considering wrapping it up. as i walked towards my rod to wind in and pack away it near bounced towards me and i landed another bass, my biggest so far at 3lb on the button 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) . we were all made up that we all got bass, something we never expected on an antrim beach at 4 below zero in december!!!! for the first time in my life i was left speechless, it was like winning the lotto. we were all left shivering uncontrolably not only because of the fishing but because of the onset of hypothermia, and decided now was the time to head for home. all the fish apart from jordans biggest one were returned to fatten up and grace us again some time in the future. what more can i say, carlsberg don't do fishing.................. but we do

Stunning fishing there lads :D ,
I was considering traveling the length of the country to catch a bass after reading all the reports from waterford etc... think I'll just try closer to home  . The chances of being there at the right time must be a million to one. Soak it in guys it might be a while before it's like that again!

hi cortaz, to be totally honest we know bugger all about bass fishing, and i'm not ashamed to admit it. but recently we have been putting in almost 30+ hours a week fishing different marks all over the north east coast. and i believe when you stick at it, you will be rewarded for your efforts, and we were. way, way, way, way beyond our wildest dreams :D :D :D :D :D :D

Fantastic fishing ,good to see all your hard work is paying of , getting a text at ten at night to remind me of the session I was missing was a bit evil though
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
