fished there sunday afternoon, the spot must have been covered with flounders. Used mackerel, lugs, mussels, all worked, even messy bits of lugs and mackerel skin worked in the end as we were running out of bait, must have been competition down there for the smallest bite. An old guy was there, laughed when I said we were hopping to catch codling or eels and said to give him a shout if we catch something other than flats. Obviously there's codling in the estuary from various report, or do they leave when jelly fish arrive in the summer (first ones after coming in last week). Perhaps only at night? (we fished from 4 to 7pm, up to high tide)

there should be loads of eels in it at this time of the year, its geting late for codling but there was a load going up to a few weeks ago.you would be better of fishing the beach at nite for the codling.
