The Gannons, Wicklow, 04/12/08

#1 Post by shamoo0804 »

People:me

Duration: 17.15 - 20.45

Tide:ebb

Weather:mild, calm

Bait:lug, mack

Rigs: 2 hook clipped down, 3 hook flapper

Results: 9 dabs, 5 flounder, 4 whiting, 1 bass, 1 coalie

Report:

Lovely evening, calm, very little breeze and mild.

All fish caught on the flapper, bar one whiting.

Great to put last nights awful session behind me.

Very pleasing to see so little whiting, great variety to the colour and markings of the dabs.

Fantastic to be able to see the bites for a change, given how windy it has been on my last 5 or 6 outings.

Last night I didn't go fishing as I thought it was too windy... it looks like I was wrong :(
Nice session

Yeh only 4 whiting, must have been my lucky night

I had told myself if I had got to 5 whiting, no matter how early it was, I was packing up and heading home

Brian, yeh there was very little breeze at all, I could see all the bites, inculding a 15cm dab....a pleasant change from the conditions we have been out in lately

The wind seemed to be from the NW, which kinda meant I was sheltered there by the rocks behind me.

Shame you didnt fancy getting out.

Cant wait for Waterford this w/end 8)

Time to break out the big hooks
