That could be viewed as both good and bad news.. Good in that the cod are fast growing, that was interesting, but I fear it may be bad in what the results are going to be used for! The results could be used to support commercial fisheries and could be used against any plans for cod recovery bans in certain areas.

The C.F.B are also currently looking into conducting a survey on cod stocks, still in the early stages of planning so I'm not sure when or if it will finally come to fruition.

yip jim they sent me some stuff on it

I'll probably do it next year for the sai shore comps (if we catch any cod!)

Hi JD,

I hadn't heard of that one, I think this may be phase 2 of the one you mention may-be, I only got sketchy information from the CFB lads, I think it may involve tagging as an extension of the current shark / skate etc tagging programs... It is only a few thoughts being gathered presently so it may never materialise into anything more.

We wouldn't have had much use for loads of cod tags so far this year any way :roll:
