Try this link:
http://ims0.osiemaps.ie/website/publicv ... m=S1&user=
Just draw a rectangle with the cursor over the area you are interested in to zoom in - topographic maps are shown up to 1:20,000 scale, zoom in further and it shows aerial photos, click on aerial/ortho 2005 for the best quality images. You can then just print the screen view - cheaper than buying them :D :D

Hope that helps.

They can be bought from the ordanance survey and a few other places but they are expensive
about €40 for an A4 set they are usually used for planning applications etc, and there is not too much detail on them either, i also remember the fisheries board doing maps of beaches and a little report a long time age not sure if the still do.
The website above is brilliant and you should be able to see what ever you need

Hi Lads...
Another good website that has excellent photos of the coastline (when you zoom in full) is the EPA website (click EPA maps on the right hand top of the main webpage) http://maps.epa.ie/InternetMapViewer/mapviewer.aspx ... I find it excellent as you can see what the ground is like beyond the low water mark. It works for for West Waterford anyway...not sure about the rest of the country??

I had a look at the epa site - they are using the 2000 aerial photos whereas the OSI have both the 2000 and 2005 photos. The latter seem to be better quality (for East Cork/West Waterford). The OSI server appears to be a lot quicker and doesn't have "epa" scrawled over the photos.
It is interesting to compare the 2000 and 2005 sets - there are some variations in the sand cover from place to place.
