Headtorch recommendations

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Now everyone says the Silvas or whatever are the best lights on the beach and i just spent over 200 euro on a new Tiga with the fancy lightweight rechargeable batteries. This weekend is the first it will be out but when i turned it on in the shop and looked into it i couldn't see properly for about an hour .

I'm not even out fishin and headlamps are doin my head in again. I spent 290 on that spelio. However, I have to say that yer man in the shop knows wot he is talkin about. He's fished for Ireland loads of times and he won in Gambia last year. I think someone said he won it again this year and had heaviest fish.

Eric, was that the headlamp you were using the other night ?

Have to say, if it was, seemed a very bright lamp, looked pretty cool aswell....but seriously €290 for a headlight

thats the one, but have to say its nearly 5 years old, still functions apart from the contacts being a bit loose but electrical tape fixes that without any major drama, the silva costs 160 odd and lasted me 5 months?

just to let ye know, I went for the Silva. Thanks for all the help and advice, in the end there were so many suggestions it nearly came down to an "eenie-mynie-mo" decision.
Silva just seemed to have a bigger following..... and it was the first answer I read

Thanks again,
g'luck
