People: Me
Duration:Noon -3:00 pm
Tide: turning, falling (http://www.irishtimes.com/weather/tides.html)
Weather: bright, water calm
Bait: rag, mack
Results: 1 X Coalfish
Couldn't take another hike down the N11 to Ennereilly just to feed the mini-whiting hordes again, so decided I'd try Greystones as it was closer, since I didn't have much time either. Set up off the rocks. First cast and a good knock - 3/4 lbs coalfish. Looking good for the session I thought. Wrong. Didn't get another bite for the remainder.
Still it was a nice day and not getting that annoying little rattle from the anti-fish (pin whiting) for hours on end was great. I guess I just don't know this mark well enough to make the most of it - plus the time of day and tide wasn't brilliant.
I'll try it again and fish later into the evening...

Sorry you didnt get more for your efforts from a usually productive mark.
Atleast the coalie seemed a decent size
I've found the tide doesnt make too much difference there though, but every mark had its off day.
Against my better judgement, I made the trip down to whitingreilly yesterday.....shouldnt have bothered

I think if I'd have stuck it out I'd have reaped dividends, but I had to leave "early", and I'd have liked to have stayed on until the tide swung up again.
Still, at least I'm left with enough bait to give it a shot again tomorrow... If I'd been in ennereilly, that would have been 100 worms fed to whiting for nowt...
I'm told to fish the flow not the ebb. Good tip.
