vandalism to cars in red-bay
Just a wee heads up to anyone fishing or visting Red-bay ,there has been a couple of cases of anglers cars being vandalised whilst parked in the carpark beside the lifeboat station .
It could just be coincidence thats its anglers cars or maybe someone has taken an issue with anglers and is deliberately targetting them ,either way maybe best to keep your eyes open or avoid the area until the issue has been resolved .
Just hope it doesn't put visiting anglers of the area as it a cracking place for shore and boat fishing .

If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

That angler would be me Ronald. My car's been damaged 3 times in the past month or so, has always happened in the space of time ive been out on the water. As far as im aware there's been no other cars involved. As you've said its a fabulous place for a spot of boat fishing some cracking fish out in that bay

alastair, you been messing with somebody else's woman
Seems strange how its just been your car damaged
Only messing with ya, but its f**king terrible that you've had it damaged 3 times
And fair play to you lads for putting it on the site, atleast all the local anglers can be extra vigilant

Re: vandalism to cars in red-bay
Sorry to hear about you car.. After 3 times, i would be thinking it is personal. Maybe someone thinks they have more rights to be there than you, or they dont like the fact that you maybe have a better boat than theirs..
Re: vandalism to cars in red-bay
a few cars have also been damaged (windows) at the small river car park at top off the town.
As for myself I took daughter to the pier only to have her scared by 2 little boy racers driving at speed along pier braking and flying back out again , besides the poor fishing here I have not been back as this was not the first thing i have witnessed in this area. A local lad did say that night that they even have had problems in this area. He said one night on the pier they were made to feel as welcome by the locals, and he is from carnlough area himself and was fishing here for shelter lol.

To give you an idea of what sort of damage that has been done to my car here's a few pictures. This all took place in the redbay carpark beside the RNLI station

Thats not on at all! There are a few charters up that way aren't there? I wouldn't be comfortable leaving my car parked there while out on the charter- not that I'm going to get out much next year by the looks of things.

Yes Jd there is one local charter in rebay, but what trouble's me the most some of the regular customers of that 'charter boat' who post on wsf so far have refused to condemn the damage that has been done to my car!!
They all are well aware of what has happened, but dont seem interested. I know if i was them id be worried about parking my car in that car park with the things that have happened to mine!!

Thats a fair bit of damage to your bonnet there wilson , looks pretty malicious ,obvicously someone came prepared to do that ,not a spur of the moment thing .

You are spot on with your observation Ronald. This attack was pre planned.
No one walks about with those sort of chemicals in their pocket.

not that i'm sherlock homes or an oxford scholar or anything but is'nt their silence a bit odd
i was planning a trip with that predator boat. but all my angling mates have decided to stick with the ballycastle charters for now. at least we'll know our cars will be safe when we get back.

It has been preplanned that attack on your car bonnet no one just happens to have that sort of stuff in their pocket. And its not just kids doing this they would break your mirrors off or smash windows this has been done by someone who appears to not like small boat anglers fishing that area.
