New to the site and moving to Ireland

#1 Post by Mr Mojo Risin »

How goes there? Just a bit of an introduction just now before i move over and pick your brains for fishing marks!

Every time i visit Galway i dont want to go home, so this time i was over i decided to bite the bullet and relocate there in the next couple of weeks. Im taking my campervan with all my gear over and renting a place with another couple of lads i've met there.
Cant wait now but i did notice a lack of fishing tackle shops with bait for sale.. Is there anything what is hard to get a hold of what i would be best to bring with me? Is there any good marks around Galway to fish? I've sea fished all over England and Scotland and am more at home on the rocks than the beaches but if theres a bass to be found i can put up with a bit of the soft stuff underneath the feet!

Anyways, I'll be over in 2 weeks or so and i dare say we'll meet on the rocks/beach somewhere/sometime.

Cheerio for noo!

Nice one lads! Im loving this site already.

Thanks for replying. Good to hear theres a few anglers about the area to share blanks with and talk fish in pubs etc! Most of the pubs in Galway now have had the pleasure (or misfortune?) of my drunken antics and are probably praying i dont return lol. Joking aside though i cant wait to get back over. Love the place.

I'll be in touch as soon as i get everything tied up here and set off for sunny Galway! I think its the weekend of the 6th i will appear. You'll notice the camper driving about as its pretty much impossible to miss!

Thanks again people, lookin forward to meeting a few of ya's and catching some fish on your side.

You're going to the wrong place if you're looking for Bass in Galway - we get more of them in Donegal than in Galway!

But you'll need to head South rather than West or North for the Bass.

Welcome to the site, by the way.
