Loop rigs

#1 Post by Al »

Anyone have any trouble with the bottom snood of the loop rig tangling up? I find that it happens to me a good bit and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to prevent this happening when using lighter snoods? 20lb up are fine it's the snoods that are 10lb to 15lb that it happens on :? I usually use fluro but maybe using a lighter line like amnesia would help if i just stretched them out before each cast? i use srt springs mostly so stretching the snoods should not have much of an effect on it! Am i answering my own question???

happens more when snoods are long, the loop folds back up on casting allowing the hook above to catch it. very irritating. i think stepping up from 10/15lb mono between the bottom swivel and the cascade might be worth a shot. keeps the loop looking more like a loop not a figure of eight! keeps it stiffer...

casting low can cause it too. aim high with your cast to allow it to fall from the sky and unclip 'properly'.

do you like plums?
