I used large circle hooks the other day to land a spurdog and conger both lip hooked. The skipper on the boat also uses them for blues and porbeagle sharks which he said are always lip hooked too as stevecrow74 and mga can verify  The circle hooks he has are the same ones used on long lines by commercial tuna boats.

Used circle hooks for the first time last night, size 1 sakuma's on 2 hook flapper. Got a 7 inch flounder initially followed by three 8 inch and a 12 inch coalfish, all fish lip hooked and returned ok.

I will have to investigate more.

no tackle shop but could go selling them, got them very cheap, once paid 3.50 for just 7 hooks in Limerick so E25 for 1250 was a good deal,I buy most fishing gear on eBay now,if I don't use them my grand kids can if I have any
