Re: Recommend a beach buddy/shelter
dont think you would go wrong with the ron thompson shelter.
you just have to be carefull when spreading the legs that you dont catch top of shelter in the plastic bracket that holds legs together.
cheap and very handy to erect and pack away
3 minutes each way well thats me anyway.

I know loads will not agree but for 20+years i have used a cheap umbrella easy picked up from argos or that sort off place so cheap. I have had it up in gales and have had my latest one 5 years now. If dug in and weighted down with sand and pegged down and using your box or bag as weight i have not had one blow off or move. Simply turn into the wind and your sheltered. I use a fold down course anglers chair underneath and it keeps everything from the sun or rain.
I tried a ron thompson shelter twice and it riped both times. But do have to say i like the look off the new shakespeare salt one that fits to tripod but not cheap a mate has looked at salt one and copied it using a old shelter and looks perfect
My reason i have stuck with umbrella is they are cheap to replace and fit in rod bag and are very light to carry up in seconds and dry quick.

Is it the shakespere/salt shelter you are talking about, if it is you need the salt tripod.
