Gents,

Another fader I'm afraid. I have something I cannot get out of on the Sunday morning in Meath and as much as I like fishing a return day trip to the West coast is not a runner.

Sorry about the late notice and I hope you all catch plenty of fish.

Donal.

Fishing 2.30 pm-6.30 pm (it is about a 3 3/4 hour deive from Dublin.

checkin 12.30 to 1.30 in O Donoghues (TBC)
Peg Draw 1.30

Will fish from number 1 up..(TBC)

We decided the following for this comp

Each Species - 20 points. (including lsd and conger)

Each Fish over minimum(20 cm) - 10 points

1 point per cm except
Each Lsd is counted as 20 cm length.
Each Conger is 35 cm lenght.

Eg 40 cm pollack is 40+10 =50 points
40 cm lsd is 20+10=30 points
80 cms conger is 35+10=45 points

above doesnt include species bonus of 20
Mackerel do not count for any points whatsoever :)

Also
3 hooks allowed. If spinning a treble counts as 3, a double is 2.
Eg a using a rapala with two trebles may lead to disqualification.

weather looks ok..(at the moment)

http://uk.weather.com/weather/detail/EIXX0026

I should be staying down for the night, and may stay for a few hours to watch the local club contest...

I'm wondering should we organise a collector/organiser of bait for the Friday?

Good luck

#54 Post by kieran »

hi all

Off on the hols with the family tomorrow so no fishing (and none where we are going, really have to work on that!) anyhow just to wish you all good luck and sore arms :D and I am sure JD et al will look after everything and the site with typical aplomb! Be sure to buy him a pint as he is worth it!!!

Thanks

PS: Back 26th, down to Waterford for a bass, and will be organising the lure competition and a ray competition thereafter...
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Have a good hol Kieran!

Looking forward to the comp now, should be good craic. I'm heading down to Limerick after work tonight, so I'll see you all in O'Donoghue's in Fanore at about 1.

I really hope no-one opens the freezer here in work though, there's a wicked hum of mackie and peeler coming from it....

Is somebody bringing a drop net?

I was hoping someone else would have asked this question as I am sure I have jinxed myself and now probably wont catch anything :)

We will be fishing the lower pegs(1-23), which won't require a drop net.

Have a good holiday Kieran and Family. I am a lazy angler, like my own beach I would like to be able to fish from the booth of my car. See you all Saturday.

Hello Lads
It was a great pleasure to meet you all. Congradulations to Mark a well deserved win, as for myself the next time on rock fishing reming me to look at my birth cert. My legs thaught that I had gone mad. I really enjoyed myself, and I could not have met a nicer set of lads. See you all soon.
