Going to Capetown for 8 days at the end of November for work, Im staying right at the Waterfront in the city so I reckon I can get some pier fishing in at the evening (not too late) and I've a a whole day free before I fly out at 10.40pm at the end of the week.So I might get out on a charter for a half day. Anyone been or know anywhere I can get some info? Have a smallish telescopic but it wouldn't fit in my bag,What's the best way to travel with a rod? I could probably buy one out there for next to nothing.

Re: Capetown
i wouldnt bring a rod with me, u should be able 2 pick a rod 4 cheap as u get around 11 rand to the euro. as for were 2 fish the 1st few days there u could ask at your hotel and were 2 buy your rod and reel.
as for fishing at nigth, dont do it.
to dangerous to be out when it gets dark.
should have lovely weather there 2 as its there summer now.
enjoy and let me now how you get on

Re: Capetown
I was there a couple of years ago and fished on the charter boat based on the waterfront, It was not very productive a few bream and Scorpionfish and a fish called a jakopever ( I know thats spelt wrong ) but it could have been a bad day
. I didn't fish from the shore but Im sure MAC can give you some advice he did some serious fishing over there..
