fishing magazines

#1 Post by seanie35 »

its been bugging me for years that fishing magazines never date their pictures of catches. Surely it would of help to all anglers to know date. when u see a picture of a guy holding a prize fish in summer cloths featured in a feb issue it kinds becomes silly, am I missing something here or is there a reason for their collective lack of info. :)

like most mags it can takes a few months to get a one to print, most writers and editors have a couple of months to write and edit article (one written in june could be published in november, july published in december etc etc ) which is usually why early summer articles have everyone wearing full floaties and fleeces, and winter you see every one in shorts.

only time i buy them now is if i'm in them, ( i have quite a few of them  )
usually dont read many of them as the info in this forum is alot more usefull and locally based, something you dont get in most magazines

Steve has it in 1

We are writing about February for the Around Ireland with photos taken in the summer - well photos from Ireland in February are rarely wonderful or likely to entice you outdoors!

FWIW...
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
