abu severun 13 xp.

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

abu severun 13 xp.

a bit of casting practice yeaterday using this abu rod, and have to
say it is really a top class peice of kit , handled 150/170 gms no
problem, i had another zziplex rod with me zziplex xtr, and to be
perfectly honest ,it was every bit as good as it, maybe slightly better,
hell of a rod for 116.00 new from spottydog tackle zziplex xtr 350 quid
from most outlets, makes you think, are we paying way to much money
for big brand named rods, and over looking the so called lesser rods.

I had both rods and the abu would not be as powerfull as the xtr so would be more user friendly to the less experienced caster so would produce better cast . I thought you sold the xtr ?

have a couple of xtrs andrew, and the xtr sport, plus a few very powerfull conoflex rods, way above the power band of the zziplex xtrs
thought the abu xp was a excellent buy for that money, anyone looking for a eally good rod for very little money, could do worse than the abuxp.
regarding less expereinced casters getting the best from this rod would cetainly disagree with that nonsense , a more expereinced caster would not take long to work out how the rod works best, ie the mechanics of the rod , casting style etc etc.

So the less experienced casters should stay away from the abu ? Are you saying in your review that this is a top end rod at low end money then ? I would not recomend that anyone looking for a rod would buy the abu over a zziplex at the top end of things especially someone who knows how to cast stevo that would be nonsense like you say .

no not at all andrew, its a rod for expereinced and less expereinced ,
i think andrew you maybe refering to the xtr 50/50 you once owned,
that model is more powerfull than the standard xtr 8ft tip 6ft butt
when assembled it measures 13ft8 inches, its action is very forgiving
thats why i compared the abu xp to it, as a guide to its power-band.
