conoflex, do you use peeler for smoothies, cos we had to use hermit and nothing else was as effective. does any one know if north or west coast holds smoothounds as i have a rake of hermit crab but dont know how effective they are for other species

yeah peelers are the only bait worth using...iv never heard of them being caught in the west from shore or boat, east/south east is place for them..

They have been caught around Ballyreen Co Clare over the years and Cappa pier in Kilrush now and again on the crab but these were caught by east coast anglers using east coast tactics on the west coast...........

Smoothies

I met a guy fishing in front of the Yacht Club in Rosses Point Sligo who said he had caught Smoothies there in the past. It a deep spot with a very fast tidal flow so its possible. Up to that I have never herd of anyone getting smoothies but then again I doubt if very few people have been targeting them.

a longish pully r a 1up,1down cascade will do the job, and a quality size 3/0 r 4/0..
