World Boat 2008 Update

#1 Post by jd »

received the following
Day 1 update
During the initial practice last week they were catching a lot of fish. Whiting, Flats and Cod making up the majority. All the rigs were plain and simple.
Sunday saw the official practice day. This ended with the guys in overall second place (team).
Yesterday saw all fishing well. The team themselves had two boat-seconds. (Dave Jolly with the best of the Irish, I think he ended around 14th)
The team are now lying 6th going into day-2. The Dutch are way out in front in first place, there's nothing seperating the next five places. England are way down!
Both Liam O'C and Kit lost a good fish each at the side of the boat, if these had of been landed they would have won their boats.

Day 2 update
Kit, Callo, and Heiko, all had boat wins today
Liam Longmore had a Second
Two of the Dutch team (still in first) had really bad scores today
The Irish Team was the best team overall today
The lads reckon this puts them in the top three going into the last day
Heiko now has a win and a second so he's in good position individually for tomorrow.

Update
Guy's
I'm afraid the dreams of a top three finish are over. They guy's gave it their all, but unfortuntately the luck ran out.

Our lads finished with "Kit 2nd", and the rest were all 4ths.
Kit did really well, this gives him a first and two seconds (might keep him high individually)
Its looking like Holland Won, France 2nd, Italy 3rd.
If it works out then Ireland might be 5th
Its still a fantastic result by the guys, well done to one and all!!!!!!!!!
