hi dan, we fished bangor last week off the back of the eisenhower peir. we arrived as the tide dropped low enough to walk along the grills and left when the tide came back in 6 hours later. between the 3 of us we got 30+ whiting and easily 30+ pouting. 2 of them my mates dad got were 1lb 6 oz and 1lb 9 oz :) :) :) good shore caught weight. all of them were taken on rag worm. there were 4 mackerel taken on sand eel and i got bitten off by a decent dog. 20+ poor cod, all palm size. gave up on 2 rods as the fish were hitting before you could take in your slack line from a cast. hopes this helps mate.

Nice fishing Al. Have you been at Donaghadee recently.

Dan, try Donaghadee. Plenty of pollack & pouting.

not asking for much are you

why dont you try the standing stone near your neck of the woods.its rough ground tactics but you`ll get cod, pollack, rockling, wrasse, dogs, maybe huss, congers, pouting, poorcod, whiting, coalies.

as for flounder, dabs better find a nice clean beach cos you`ll not get them in the same areas where you`ll find all the above.

no-one in their right mind is going to reveal any marks in Co Down that hold sea trout and rays
