Won't make it myself but the Waterford coast will be bashed on Saturday with that wind! The sea will be very nasty and possibly unfishable!

Donal / Pete possibly have a look at the Waterford estuary marks, Woodstown, Cheekpoint or Passage they won't be as bad wind or wave wise and with the blow out there now, should fish well.

I tried to fish Tramore last Sunday ( similar conditions to this Saturday in Clonea) and was blown off the beach after 15 minutes.

Anyway hope that might help but I'd try avoid the open coast if at all possible.

Due to the weather conditions, this comp has been moved. We will be fishing Monatrea instead, the time has also changed to allow the best chance of a few fish at this venue. We will be fishing from 1pm to 6pm instead.

Donal will be along shortly to post directions etc. We will do check in at the venue from 11.30 on.

Report from yesterday in shore reports,

Results: 3 bearded rockling
headed off with high hopes with the perfect tide, cloud cover and a nice chop on the water, got to the spot 300 yards from end of monetrea wall to discover 200 yards of small discreet black floats not far out paralell with the shore ,really peeved with this and have reported it,fished close by for a while but confidence gone so headed to caliso bay and got a few nibbles and a rockling about 2 lb,

Fisheries inspector said they'd send a rib down to remove net, ye should hit the fish, the further out the rocks ye go the better, great chance of bass and flounder, also check out the giant skull on the shore, good luck
Species....good film.....I'll get my coat

We will not be fishing that spot.

The check in will be by the cottage on the spit. The piece of land sticking out oppisit Youghal town.
Google it on 51.57.319......07.50.277
We'll fish facing north by the moorings and along the roadway you drive in on.
There will be some shelter here and you'll be able to park behind your peg.

There is no shops at this venue so if you need to grub up either stop in Dungarvan or drive into Yoghal.

I'm on 087 7457999 I don't carry the phone around with me but if you send your number i'll ring you back

JP Won it ( I think ) Alby had a coalie flounder and an undersize whiting, Paul Doyle had a Dog and a flounder,
Thats the top 3, Weather wasn't too bad considering the forecast but the fishing was vey slow, Anyone else who caught
only had one fish exept Marco's 2 undersize.
