marks safe at night for me and daughter ( northern ireland )

#1 Post by catalan kid »

I have a daughter that is now very interested in joining me on trips but I was looking a few marks we would be left to it without drunk youths or boy races that sort off thing. both beach and pier. so any help advice welcome.

i have had boy races at waterfoot pier and a few at brownsbay but they dont bother me but daughter would be a bit on the nervous side.

I think you are gonna get them where ever you go. I can live with the racers, its the drunks that put me off.

try waterfoot beach or cusendun beach, i've fished them both
and apart from the odd dog walkers or evening strollers they
were deserted.
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

Donaghadee can be quite bad for the token IDIOTs depends if its a school night or not, or if its cold lol, seems this indigenous species seems to be affected by the cold, Ballyhalbert is pretty quite i would give it a try there

Donaghadee should be ok if you avoid Friday & saturday evenings.

I was there on Sunday night and there was no bother.

During the Summer you get the lads down from the caravans in the evenings so I normally go on Sunday morning instead.

Depends where you are mate, if you're in the Belfast area Donaghadee is as good a spot as any, never had trouble with anyone down there, and I fished it for quite a long time.... 8)

Plonk a couple of 3 Hook Flappers out between the 2 Piers, and give her a longing rod and let her Dangle over the railing for the Pollack and Rockling.
