What Happens if You Pull A Lidl Too Hard On A Cheap Rod

#1 Post by uvox »

I bought one of these rods in Lidl over 3 years ago. Advertised as telescopic beach rods, suitable for sea fishing (came with a fixed spool reel which seems reasonable). Just thought I'd show you what happened when I was trying to pull out of some weed at Ennereilly last week.

I really wasn't pulling that hard...:)

So, if you have the same model, take care when that 10LB bass comes along.

Oh well, better stick with the old ABU and Shakespeares from now on....

I was trying it out for a bit of craic. No real harm done, though a few quid wasted. I continued on with my "proper" gear. But if you've got that rod - well, watch out...
