Buying a second hand outboard

#1 Post by evan020507 »

Hi all,

As fromy my previous post I have just bought a 4m inflatable with solid floor for some inshore bays, lakes and estuary fishing and am in need of an outboard.

I have a rough idea on the size im looking for now and have been checking out the following websites

apolloduck.ie
and done deal.ie as well as buyandsell.ie

does anyone have any other recommendations or advice on where to pick up second hand outboards as im living in south tip and prepared to travel for the right one, ie in good working order etc.

also does anyone have any advice on buying second hand outboards?

thanks

Also one other question may sound silly but can you fit long shaft outboards to a rib?? or would you stick strictly with short shaft??
