PROPOSED REGULATIONS FOR THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF SEA BASS (Dicentrarchus labrax)
TO LOUGHS AGENCY STAKEHOLDERS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES;
The Loughs Agency would welcome your views on proposed implementation of a new regulation, to be introduced in the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area for the conservation and protection of Bass.
The new regulation is proposed to be called the Foyle Area and Carlingford Area (Bass Angling) Regulations 2008. This regulation if enacted will prohibit the taking of Bass by any means other than rod and line. They also provide for a bag limit on anglers of two Bass in any one period of 24 hours, and provide for a ban on angling for Bass during the spawning season (15 May to 15 June each year). The Regulations also provide for the prohibition on the sale of rod caught Bass.

Good news! And better news, they're doing the same for Tope too!
However, if anyone cares to write into the consultation process, they might mention that a 45 cm minimum size makes more sense than the proposed 40 cm size.

To a Maximum of 60cm. Save the Big spawners that are horrible to eat anyway.

Slot sizes? Think they'd go for it? Might be worth mentioning, at that.
