Bonfils Creek, West Clare 24/09/2008

People: Ross, Edmund and Terry

Duration: 3 hrs

Tide: hw down for 3 hrs.

Weather: sunny

Bait:
Crab
Rigs:
Bottom fished and float fished

Results:
6 Ballan Wrasse including a Specimen of 4 lbs. 12 ozs. for Edmund - his first Specimen!



Report:
Fished Carrigaholt Pier earlier. 3 Dogs, small Coalfish and a Rock Cook.
Went to Bonfils. There was a big swell so we had to fish higher up than usual.
Most fish were caught on the bottom. Floatfishing was poor. No Triggers.

Got down to Clare to do a bit of grass cutting. Spent a few hours out on the rocks and no sign of any triggers....there was another post a while ago saying water temp was down 2C from this time last year I wonder if there is anything in this.
2009 - France, Italy, England, Scotland and Wales.....;-)
Edinburgh, Wasps, Castres, Harlequins, Munster and Leicester.......;-)
Now to add some fish:Cukoo,Ballan,Pollock,Coalie,Pouting,Conger,poor cod....mm needs more fish.. Mackerel, Dogie, Mullet Flounder...poor year so far....

There are a few triggers up in North Clare but its a long trek to get to the location its south of Ballyreen and North of Doolin

Caught one very small Trigger today about 1 lb. on crab at a rock mark near The White Strand, Doonbeg.
Wrasse were scarce as well.
