North Wexford 17-09-08

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People:Myself and Carpets

Duration:8 pm- 11pm

Tide:Rising

Weather:Calm

Bait:Whole Calamari and Live Crab

Rigs:3/0 & 4/0 Pennel Pulleys

Results:Myself 2 Smooth Hound, 2 Dabs, 2 whiting & 1 L.S.D.
Carpets 3 Smooth Hound & 1 Whiting

Report:Arrived and set up, Carpets put out 2 rods & I pit out 1, I was playing with my new 7ht turbo with the other. Gave carpets a go of it while went to set up a trace for some Huss, ....I heard a smack...looked around and saw Carpets tripod on the sand with his tip tornado and 7ht mag making a b line for the water............ I managed to grab the butt of the rod before it disappeared and gave it to carpets to fight, a 6lb Hound was landed soon after. He hit the bait with some force :!:

He'l set his drag in future !!!!! ha ha

I was quite enough then for an hour with a couple of small species robbing our baits. A few more hounds were landed with out any more drama, we packed up at 11,
