Anyone got any suggestions for seperating an expensive boat rod. It has been stuck together for about 2 Yrs and all the usual methods of sepertation have been tried, hot water, force etc.

The best way to get the rod apart might be to get three people (yeah, sounds like a big job...) and have two hold the ends of the rod steady while the third catches the middle of the rod and rotates it so that the rod is flexed in a circular motion - apparently this helps break the seal evenly and lets whatever lubricant (diesel, applied some hours before is probably best) penetrate. Might have to lubricate, wait, bend and repeat the process a few times before it parts for you. HTH!

When or if you do get it apart, rub a candle on the spigot, should stop it happening again.
