Bait Help - Beara

#1 Post by stuartmcnair »

Hi Guys,

My wife and I are experienced shore anglers (beach and rocks etc) and are coming over to Ireland for a couple of weeks. As we'll be traveling from the UK I don't really want to get any frozen stuff from over hear as we'll be arriving at Dublin and I suspect my cool box isn't good enough to last the journey without macky or sandeels turning to mush.

Can anyone point me in the direction of baits suppliers in the Beara Peninsula area where i can grab frozen stuff and / or maybe crab although i can get my own crab and dig lug etc.

I may just risk the coolbox with a few emergency supplies :) not sure yet. Also - what's the score with Rag on the S / SE side? Diggable? non at all?

Thanks

Stu

Dan is a few miles west of Cork City and on the main road to the Beara Peninsula.
An hours drive from the halfway will get you to Castletownbere
It's found on sat nav under "the halfway"
He carries a full stock of frozen and fresh baits
Give him a ring first.

Hi Stuart
I am based at Adrigole on the Beara which is about midway between Glengarriff and Castletownbere.
I have a small tackle shop here with a stock of frozen baits including sandeel, mackerel and squid and will be happy to help you out with where to fish. To find us look for the directions on our website www.dromagowlanehouse.com or if you are lost our phone number is 027 60330.
Regarding worms there are a few lug grounds and crab collecting areas but rag has yet to be located. If you need any I can arrange a supply but need a few days notice.
Look forward to meeting you

Paul
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.
