Best Shore Angling Destination in the World?

Lads,

hypothetical situation here...

If you were sick of the weather in this country and you decided to leave where are the best shore fishing destinations in the world? I'm looking for overall variety of fish, oh and good weather! My shorlist at the moment is somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico, Cost Rica/Nicaragua or maybe Africa/Namibia someplace. Any ideas/suggestions?

Being bit biased i'd have to say Exmouth/Ningaloo area in Western Australia as i'm hoping to go up there next year... well hoping !!

Got the chance of Sailfish, Giant Trevally, Golden Trevally, Queenfish, Shark & Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Tuna, Bonefish, Permit, Big Tailor(Bluefish), Giant Herring, Milkfish plus lots of BIG sharks! and a load of other stuff. The weather ain't to bad either

Oh yeah and bring plenty of tackle, lots of toothy critters around :lol:

If ya get bored shore fishing or it ain't happening you can always go boating for marlin etc.

Costa Rica you say? I might be heading over there next year, although it will be for the honeymoon so I doubt I'll be doing much fishing but after hearing that I might have to sneak the travel rod into the suitcase. I must look into the fishing over there.

Dave,

The blue water fishing out of Costa Rica seems second to none, from the shore you're looking at all the flats species, tarpon, permit, bonefish etc. along with the usual sharks and rays which never seem to get much press over there... Jasus they'd make the front page of Sea Angler every month if you caught one over here. But for SWFF lets face it it's the gulf of mexico/carribean - nuff said! Make sure you stuff a rod or two in there for the trip.

Hi

I'd vote for Costa Rica too, but the pacific and not Caribbean coast... that said, the bay islands off Honduras are superb especially outside the reefs on Roatan. Ah memories...

my point of view is that if you get a good summer irelands shore angling or all other types of angling is top of europe. :lol:

Have been checking out western australia alot, weather might be almost too hot but for a "westernised" english speaking country I don't think you'll find the fishing much better than this...
