People:myself & harry

Duration:5pm to 8pm

Tide: high at 5;15pm

Weather:dd SE wind dry turning wet later

Bait:lug, mack,jelly worms
dd
Rigs: 2 hook pat, flowing trace

Results: harry 1 wrasse 4 pollack, myself 1 wrasse 6 pollack

Report:my friend harry was home for the weekend so we decided we'd go do a bit of fishing and a bit of exploring new marks along the east cork coast and after all that we still ended up in a mark that we have fished a few times before, but anyway it turned out alright in the end harry got a nice wrasse just after a few casts on a jelly worm and a few small pollack, i was fishing on the bottom with lug tipped with mack and got a small wrasse which i think is a gold skinny but not too sure as ive never caught one before,(please help) then i changed over to a jelly worm and got a few small pollack aswell.....

Hey man, good session there. Nice couple of wrasse. I think the second one looks like a Corkwing Wrasse. The electric blue markings around the eye are really clear plus theres a comma shaped black mark just behind the eye.

I'd agree with mackdaddy - its a Corkwing (definitely not a goldsinny anyway)
Could do with getting one myself....

They are a small wrasse. I know this link is in other posts, but who knows where, so see below. Its very helpful for identifying species (I know some of the lads have it laminated and take it out with them)
