Feburary Would be the best time for the Shore fishing (Sharks) Stan, although December to March/early April are considered the good months. Get in touch with Terrnece Clark of Mola Mola Namibia. Let me know the costs...... Might be interested if you are looking for someone to make up the numbers.

HI Kev,

Thanks. I will work on it. Am off to Gambia at end of October and if fishing is good there at this time we may opt for than again the following year.

Gambia will work out a good deal cheaper alright. Last time I looked at Namibia, it was arount the €2200 mark for 10 Nights with 7 days guided fishing...

thems fighting words, you could get a flight to Windhoek for 1,100 or 1,200 euros weekend of sixth seventh december
for one week would you be on for it? it would be more fun to catch them on your own tackle rather than just being a winder for the guide. some good boat fishing there as well

Hi Jw,

I have Gambia in October of this year and will be looking to a trip in Feb 2010. I think if I mention a trip in December it will be divorce time!!!

Waldron,

You have me foaming at the mouth here...... Seriously thinking about it........ Might be a little short on cash at such short notice.... then again, I might just have to have a chat with the bank manager.... We would need 4x4 plus a local contact for bait and such.... If I thought we stood a good chance, I'd be up for it..... It would be nice to attach the Zippy XTR Sport to one of those baby's....

John,

Is there much of a boat angling scene there?

You need Henry Loubser.... I fished 2 trips to Swakop, he was the best. Everyone else followed him around. I've got his number somewhere if you need it.

Basically, it's small boat action. Launch and recover 7m cats from the Mole. Fishing is fantastic, though Feb would be at the end of the season. No later than April, really.

It sounds interesting, every second day, boat fishing & shore fishing. I enjoyed Gambia but the fishing wasn't brilliant.... I shouldn't have looked at the pictures, I shouldn't have asked the question.... :D :D Thanks lads.. :D Another raft of Africa surfing to do... :D

Feburary is the time for the Big sharks as they feed up before heading off shore. Any time from December onwards would be the business.

Are you interested Jim.... Could be just the thing for to ease the pain of the sh!te summer?

the one thing is we are not the only people who have had this particular thought so
flights at this time of year to the southern hemisphere fill up *very* quickly, so
we would want to move on that fast

Ah! I'd love to try something again. Not sure what... I reckon I'll get over the small boat festival first and see what sort of fishing we get in in the run up to December... I would much prefer to be boat fishing. I hear what you are saying John about being a winding machine for the guide. I would much prefer to be tying my own trace, baiting my own hook etc. I think boat angling gives me more of a chance to do that especially when you look at them on the telly flaking out from the beach using a senator 113H!!

I see Henry Loubser has a tie up with Mola Mola Uk (see the surfing has started :D ) I met Johan Burger in Cork a few years ago, nice chap, I might pop him a mail at a later stage.
