Duration:7.30 am-3.30pm
Tide:low around 6.30am,
Weather:sunny, warm, 1 shower
Bait:rag,mack
Rigs:float, 1 hook clipped down, feathers
Results:5 pollock
Report:Arrived with high hopes after having had a good session here in june catching wrasse and pollock with shamoo0804. Set up the float rig but the water wasnt too deep in close so I changed to a 1 hook clipped down baited with rag and mack and cast out as far as i could.
This worked for me the last time when i got a large ballan wrasse, but alas this time I lost the rig  . This is rough ground and you can expect tackle losses  .Back to the float setup and at 8'30 approx i got the first pollock  . I thought this would be the first of many but it was another 2 hours till I got the second  . In between i took my eye off the ball when a nice yacht anchored nearby, and when i finally realised the float had disappeared it was too late ,and the wrasse ( I PRESUME  ) had wedged himself tight  , resulting in another tackle loss  As the tide rose I had to keep moving over and up, and as a result I had to wait till it turned to get back . I wasnt exactly cut off but you'd have to be a human fly (and i'm not  ) to get out before the tide receded.
There was lots of activity with kayakers , swimmers, fishing boats, yachts, water skiers, helicopters, so I dont know if this affected the fishing. After 5 hours i had 2 pollock to show, and although i was grateful not to be blanking, i was also a bit disappointed with the wrasse not showing. I kept putting the last cast off . I put on a set of feathers/ muppets after seeing a fish jump and on the retrieve a pollock hit it like a train  . Its tricky using feathers here and i found that once i could see a couple of yards of my yellow leader i was at the right depth  .
