fahan ( again ) Donegal 30/8/08

#1 Post by fishermannum1 »

[b]People me/son

[b]Duration 10.35am to 2.00pm

[b]Tide dropping/ and start of the rise

[b]Weather overcast and warm

[b]Bait mac;/sandeel

[b]Rigs pulley's

[b]Results son 11 thornback rays, me 9 thornback rays, 5 doggies, 5 tub gurnard

[b]Report had a few hours to spare so we took a run down to fahan for another go at the thornie's, and it was pure mayhem 8) my son was frist to get a bait in the water, and before i even had my frist cast i found myself unhooking a ray for him. got my frist rod out, and in the middle of casting out my second, the first rod went, landed a nice thornie. before i could unhook it my other rod went and my sons at the same time, and another two rays were landed. got them all unhooked and returned safe. rebaited the rods and it all happened again  only this time the four rods went at the same time   jes; it was madness!!! we landed three rays and one doggie.again rebaited, before i could cast out my second rod i had to grab my frist one, another doggie. this was the way it was for ages, i could hardly get time to sit and have a smoke  on the last half hour or so things started to slow down a bit, i ended up getting five tub gurnard one after the other. think i'll leave this spot for a while, for i need a rest
