People: Me

Duration:6-8 pm

Tide:bottomed up, turning

Weather:dead calm, fair

Bait:rag

Rigs: one rod, one hook, 100 m out.

Results:me-1 lesser weaver, 1 flounder (1 lb), 1 small pollack.

Fished about mid-way down the beach from the river at Pennycomequick. Plenty of bites, but from small stuff. Nice flounder, tiny pollack, and a pesky lesser weaver. All handled with care and returned alive.

I noticed a large grey seal in action too that may have mitigated against more catches. We'll all got to eat.

Btw, I spent most of the day on the beach reading. I watched other anglers return without a sausage. Firmly convinced the 2-3 hours before dark are the only daylight hours to fish this beach if you don't want to do the night thing.

myself and a friend fished it the night before you and we had a lot of dogs, 2 nice smoothies, 1 whiting, 1 dab, 1 flounder. rag was the best bait by far out of rag, razor and mackeral.
